Outpatient Mental Health
Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center has
thirteen
outpatient therapists who provide assessment and treatment for children,
adolescents, adults, couples and families. We provide help to people who are
struggling with stress, depression, anxiety, trauma, behavior disorders, and
other mental or emotional conditions. Therapists see clients at sites in
Winona, Caledonia, La Crescent, and Wabasha. We have therapists
also working part time at two school sites. Our therapy department provides
a wide range of services including crisis intervention, short and
longer-term therapy, support/therapy groups and psychological testing.
Therapists are also involved in community consultation and education
regarding mental health issues.
This past year, therapists saw approximately 800 new
clients.
We continue to grow in the number of clients served and
in the programs that we offer. We are committed to helping people develop in
healthy ways to improve the quality of their lives.
At Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center, we pride
ourselves on offering caring, respectful counseling services which address a
wide range of concerns including:
|
Depression and/or Anxiety: Many people experience symptoms of depression over the course of a lifetime.
Through therapy strategies and sometimes medical intervention techniques, we
help you decrease symptoms and get your life back on track. |
 |
|
Children/Parenting: It can be a difficult world
in which to grow up and sometimes as parents we struggle with the best ways
to guide our children. Hiawatha Valley therapists can help you with the
particular problems that you and your child confront, and guide you to other
appropriate community resources.
|
Life Transition: All of us experience difficult
transitions from time to time in our life — divorces, death of a loved one,
job changes, health concerns. Our therapists offer you supportive help as
you adjust to these difficult changes. |
|
Employee Assistance Programming:
EAP is an employer sponsored benefit to help employees and their
families get help for personal issues. This includes professional
assessments and referral services, which are totally confidential and no
cost to the employee. |
