Children's Therapeutic Supports and Services (CTSS):

CTSS service components are designed to help each child with an emotional disturbance to function and remain with the child's family in the community. Direct service includes assistance in developing independent living skills; assistance in developing parenting skills necessary to address the needs of the child.

CTSS services must be designed to improve the ability of the child with an emotional disturbance to: manage basic activities of daily living; function appropriately in home, school and community settings; set goals and plans; reside with the family in the community.

Recipients eligible for CTSS are children on Medical Assistance and are diagnosed with an Emotional Disturbance (ED) and service is deemed medically necessary through the completion of a diagnostic assessment by a licensed mental health professional. Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center is currently certified by DHS to provide CTSS Services in Olmsted, Goodhue, Fillmore, Wabasha, Winona and Houston County.
