1965

Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center was established in September 1965.  It opened its doors at 76 East 4th Street in Winona.

1982

Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center opened its first board and lodge at 73 West Broadway in Winona, allowing temporary housing for adults with severe or persistent mental illness.

1984

Twenty-four hour crisis support phone services started.

1992

Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center opened a small clinic in Caledonia at 121 South Marshall Street.

1993

Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center opened another small clinic in Wabasha at 611 Broadway Street.

2009

The Peer Support Network (PSN) opened.  The drop-in center allows for adults to attend group programming or connect with others with similar life challenges.

2014

Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center opened another small clinic in Red Wing at 2835 South Service Drive.

2015

Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center opened a small office in Rushford.

2016

Hiawatha Bluffs Living opened a long term permanent supportive housing facility for adults living with mental illness.

2018

Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center moved its main clinic in Winona into a larger location at 420 East Sarnia Street.

2020

The Caledonia Clinic moved into a new larger location at 221 South Kingston Street.
