Mental Health Practitioner for Daytime Crisis Response
Full-Time position. 40 hours. Monday-Friday; 8am – 5pm
Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center has an open position for a Mental Health Practitioner to handle crisis intervention and stabilization for individuals in Houston, Fillmore, Wabasha, and Winona Counties.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: responding to crisis calls during the day and assessing the situation for further follow-up; provide support and follow up to previous crisis individuals; develop plans with individuals to assist them in restoring baseline functioning following a crisis; community networking and outreach to collaborative partners.
Applicants must possess a high level of human relation skills and aptitude for effective decision making; have good written and oral communication skills, excellent problem solving skills; be able to handle difficult and stressful situations in a competent manner; be a self-starter; highly organized; utilize active listing skills; and creative with an ability to locate resources for clients as needed. Must be willing to take on speaking engagements and community outreach as a priority. Must have a valid driver’s license.
This position requires the incumbent must meet the minimum qualifications as a Mental Health Practitioner as outlined in MN Statute 245.462, subd 17.
