Winona, MN — Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center (HVMHC) is proud to highlight the growing impact of its Mobile Crisis Services, available 24/7 to individuals of all ages experiencing a mental health crisis across southeastern Minnesota. Anyone in need can call 844-274-7472 to reach trained mental health staff who provide immediate, compassionate, and confidential support. 

Mobile Crisis Services offer on-site and telehealth crisis response, ensuring that help is available wherever it's needed — whether at home, school, the workplace, or in the community. The program serves individuals in Winona, Goodhue, Wabasha, Houston, and Fillmore counties, with the goal of stabilizing situations, reducing hospitalizations, and connecting individuals to ongoing care. 

"Our Mobile Crisis Team meets people where they are — both physically and emotionally," said Jen Dieck, Director of Crisis Response and Substance Use Disorder Services. "We help individuals and families find calm in the moment, while building a bridge to longer-term support and recovery." 

In 2025 already, HVMHC's Crisis Response Teams received over 1500 calls and over 75% of the individuals support remain in the community without needing hospitalization. Our work focuses on support for people of any age experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge.  We encourage people to call at the first signs of needing support. We encourage calling if someone you're with is having a hard time or thinking of harming themselves.  Our teams will come to you aimed at preventing emergencies and supporting mental wellness. This is at no cost to the person or loved one calling.  

Mobile Crisis Services are available to youth, adults, and families at no cost to the individual. Services include: 

  • 24/7 phone support via 1-844-274-7472 
  • In-person and virtual crisis response is available 
  • Crisis assessments and stabilization planning 
  • Coordination with law enforcement, schools, hospitals, and community agencies 
  • Follow-up care and connection to local mental health resources
