Emily Erickson, MS, LPCC – Mental Health Therapist
Emily has been a Mental Health Therapist at Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center since 2020. She provides outpatient therapy services to clients of all ages at the Winona and Caledonia offices. In addition to her outpatient work, Emily serves as a school-linked mental health therapist in the Houston, MN school district and offers early childhood therapy across Houston, Winona, and Fillmore Counties through the Children’s Community Based Services department.
Emily earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with minors in Criminal Justice and Substance Abuse Counseling, from Viterbo University. She completed her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Winona State University and is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). She is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and has specialized training to work with children ages 0–5.
Emily takes an integrative and client-centered approach to therapy, drawing from evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Play Therapy. She supports individuals navigating a wide range of concerns, including trauma, emotional regulation, behavioral challenges, anxiety, and depression.
Emily is passionate about building strong, trusting relationships with her clients and creating a safe, collaborative environment where healing and growth can occur.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys hiking, cuddling with her cat, hammocking, thrifting, and spending time with her nephews.
