Winona, Minn. – Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center (HVMHC) is excited to announce the launch of a new Community Partnership Program and Mental Health Awareness Apparel Design Contest. This initiative is designed to engage local businesses, staff, clients, and community members in promoting mental wellness and reducing the stigma surrounding mental health.

HVMHC is inviting the community to submit original phrases, slogans, and artwork that could be featured on a new line of mental health awareness apparel and stickers. Submissions may include a short message, visual design, or a combination of both—focused on promoting hope, connection, and mental wellness.

Selected designs will be featured on apparel and awareness materials available through an upcoming online store, with proceeds supporting HVMHC programs and services. Individuals whose designs are selected will receive a $25 gift certificate to a local business as a token of appreciation.

“Messages can make a real difference in someone’s day,” said Ryan Buhler, Marketing and Communications Specialist at HVMHC. “We’re excited to invite our community to help create designs that are uplifting, supportive, and meaningful—something that could make an impact when someone needs it most.”

Submission Details:

  • Deadline: 11:59 PM, Monday, April 6, 2026
  • Requirements: All submissions must be original work. By submitting, participants agree that HVMHC may use and adapt their designs for promotional and merchandise purposes.

The Community Partnership Program will also provide opportunities for local businesses to support mental health initiatives through fundraising events, donation drives, and awareness campaigns.

This effort reflects HVMHC’s continued commitment to strengthening community connections, increasing awareness, and supporting access to mental health services across the region.
