Winona, Minn – As part of Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center's ongoing Monthly Giveback Program, they're kicking off the new year with a January Hygiene Drive, running through January 31. This month's initiative focuses on collecting essential hygiene products to support day centers and warming shelters throughout the communities HVMHC serves.

Launched to extend HVMHC's mission beyond clinical care, the Monthly Giveback Program provides staff, clients, and community members with meaningful opportunities to give back in practical, impactful ways. Each month highlights a different need identified within our five-county region.

"Hygiene items are something many of us take for granted, but for individuals experiencing housing instability, they can make a significant difference in comfort, dignity, and overall well-being," said Ryan Buhler, Marketing & Communications Specialist at HVMHC. "This drive is a simple way for our community to come together and support neighbors during the coldest months of the year."

Community members are encouraged to donate new, unused items such as toothbrushes and toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo and conditioner, soap or body wash, lotion, feminine hygiene products, wipes, and other personal care essentials. Donations can be dropped off at any of HVMHC's four clinic locations during regular business hours:

  • Winona Clinic – 420 E. Sarnia St.
  • Red Wing Clinic – 2835 S. Service Dr., Suite 103
  • Wabasha Clinic – 611 Broadway Ave., Suite 100
  • Caledonia Clinic – 221 S. Kingston St.

All donated items will be distributed directly to local day centers and warming shelters, helping ensure individuals in need have access to basic necessities during the winter season.

HVMHC is grateful for the continued generosity of our staff and community partners and looks forward to another year of meaningful monthly giveback efforts. To learn more or stay up to date on upcoming initiatives, follow HVMHC on Facebook and Instagram.
