Youth & Family Therapy
Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center providers are trained in providing therapy services for youth and families. In addition, we offer an array of specialized practices including;
- Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) an evidence-based treatment for children and adolescents impacted by trauma and their parents or caregivers.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) a form of psychotherapy treatment that has been demonstrated to be effective for a range of problems including depression, anxiety disorders, alcohol and drug use problems, marital problems, eating disorders and severe mental illness.
- Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) an evidence-based intervention program for children under the age of 6 years old who have experienced traumatic events and/or experiencing mental health, attachment, or behavioral problems.
- Intensive Treatment in Foster Care (ITFC) is an intensive therapeutic program designed to help youth with significant mental health symptoms and impairments in their functional abilities who are currently living in family foster care settings.
