Winona, Minn. – Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center (HVMHC) is giving community members a new way to show their support for mental health awareness while making a meaningful difference for people in their community.
HVMHC has launched a brand-new online Mental Health Awareness Apparel Store, featuring shirts, sweatshirts and other apparel with messages centered around mental health, hope and the importance of reminding people that they matter.
The new apparel line is about more than raising awareness. $5 from every item of clothing purchased goes directly to HVMHC and will be placed into the HVMHC Care Fund. The Care Fund helps cover the cost of mental health services for individuals who are experiencing a financial hardship.
The apparel line was created in partnership with MCC, which provides the apparel and manages the online store. Through the partnership, $5 from every item purchased goes to HVMHC to support the Care Fund.
"Everyone deserves the opportunity to receive the mental health care they need," said HVMHC Executive Director Erik Sievers. "The Care Fund helps us support individuals who may be facing financial challenges, and this apparel line gives our community an opportunity to be part of that effort. When someone purchases an item, they are not only spreading an important message about mental health — they are also helping someone in their community access care."
The apparel collection offers a variety of designs and styles, giving community members an opportunity to wear their support for mental health while contributing to the HVMHC Care Fund. Every purchase helps HVMHC continue its mission of providing accessible behavioral health services throughout southeastern Minnesota.
