Winona, Minn.  – Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center (HVMHC) will be moving office locations in Wabasha on August 5, 2024.

HVMHC has been the leader in Southeast Minnesota in delivering exceptional, responsive, community-based services since 1965. Since the early 1990’s, HVMHC has had a clinic location and provider offices located at 611 Broadway Street, Suite 100 in Wabasha.

As part of their ongoing commitment to the people of Wabasha County, HVMHC will move their clinic and provider offices to a new location while remaining within the Mittle Schule building at 611 Broadway Street, Suite. The relocation of the offices allows HVMHC to expand current services within the Wabasha area communities.

The current HVMHC offices are on the West side of the Mittle Schule building with the office doors directly off the Broadway Avenue parking lot.  The New HVMHC offices will be on the East side of the Mittle Schule building, with the office off the McMillan Street entrance.

This move will increase the number of private offices from 4 to 8 and create more space for community-based programming including a larger group meeting room.  This improved space will provide HVMHC with the ability to add staffing in key areas and offer better privacy for those who are seen in person at the clinic or by telehealth modalities. HVMHC recognizes the need for these services within the Wabasha area and strives to adapt as necessary to meet the changing needs of the community.

HVMHC is looking for financial support to assist them with the move.  HVMHC has plans to ensure there is no negative impact on the services they provide, and the agency will not be closed during the move. “We prioritized ensuring the clinic wouldn’t be closed and services wouldn’t be interrupted because of the move,” said HVMHC Executive Director, Erik Sievers. “HVMHC will, however, incur moving expenses including upgrading our technology capabilities, purchasing the necessary furniture and fixtures to occupy the larger space, and renovating certain features of the space we will be moving into,” continued Sievers.
